Akg K 701 Open Back Headphones

I have had these headphones for about a week now, which means I haven't played them in fully yet, but already they sound amazing and detailed. Still, they're not the kind of heaphones you want if you like to listen to music through super-bassy sound systems. These are not DJ headphones at all, there response is pretty much flat, but they are so detailed you'll find yourself going through your music collection and hear tiny details you never noticed before. Also, it is worth knowing that, although a Headphone amp will let you get the most out of them, they'll work fine straight out of a mixing desk or audio interface. They'll even sound fine plugged straight into an ipod, but not so loud that you can deafen yourself within 20 minutes. Anyhow, if you get a chance to try them, the odds are you'll be hooked!
