The ADK S is a true condenser pressure gradient microphone with a 1-inch, gold vapour-deposited diaphragm. The ADK S has a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20kHz,and features a heavy duty aircraft grade machined brass housing with a durable scratch resistant anodized finish. Capable of handling high SPL's, this is a very versatile microphone and is ideal for vocals, choirs, fretted instruments, reeds, woodwinds and even drums.
S is for SPL! Vocals, Choirs, Acoustic Guitar, Fretted Instruments (Banjo, Mandolin, Dobro, etc.), Reeds and Woodwinds. Plus: Drums - Especially Floor Toms, Drum Overheads; Electric Guitar and Bass, All Percussion Instruments, Piano. In short, the "S" will do anything the A-51 does PLUS it is Designed for HIGH SPL Applications. Megadeth, Ambrosia - Even Westlake Audio - use the "S" Series for Floor Toms. Megadeth also used them on Bass Cabinets! A-51s were used to track the Reed and Woodwind Section of the Seattle Symphony for a Disney Feature Film.
